The Kingdom of the God is within You, 2021

I studied Buddhism and Taoism philosophy while growing up in China, and because of this, I have a passionate interest in merging eastern and western religions, which I believe are interconnected and share a universal message.

Enso is the circle of life and connectedness of every existence. It can symbolise emptiness or fullness, presence or absence. The perfect meditative state. The Eye of Horus symbolises healing, protection, and rebirth. I interpret the merging of wisdom and the third eye as a conduit leading to spiritual awakening.

In this painting, I demonstrate the path to this merged state and ultimate understanding of the “Kingdom of the God is within you” (written in Hebrew at the top of the pyramid), a reply from Jesus in Luke 17:21.

This precept can be found in every great religion. The spiritual message or wisdom tradition is life’s ultimate truth. A treasure that lies within each one of us.
